My goal for the Summer 2019 Beautycon Festival in Los Angeles, was to make sure the festival attendees had as much fun as possible! Tens of thousands of beauty enthusiasts travelled from all 50 US States and dozens of international countries to attend, and it was my responsibility to design an immersive space where they felt comfortable to interact with beauty brands and tastemakers and express their own creativity. Every photo moment was designed to encourage interactivity and creative expression so guests’ experience was focused on exploring and interacting with and environment rather than passively waiting in lines for experiences to happen to them. Because the events audience was largely milennial and gen z guests who express themselves via digital content, I was minful to curate a space where they could let their own creativity shine, rather than building one-not photo ops, and as a result, the event’s UGC was as unique and varied as the attendees themselves.
